Conspiracy theories

One of the most popular conspiracy theory during the COVID-19 pandemic was the one that tell us that it was intentionally caused as part of a plan by secret elites to reduce the world's population and exert greater control through fear, quarantine, and vaccines.  This idea merges with another belief that major pandemics seem to occur approximately every 100 years, pointing to examples such as the bubonic plague in 1720, cholera in 1820, the Spanish flu in 1920, and the coronavirus in 2020. Although science explains these epidemics as natural phenomena resulting from the evolution of viruses, many people believe in the existence of a kind of hidden "pattern" or deliberate manipulation by those in power.

 The Bermuda Triangle, located between Miami, Puerto Rico, and Bermuda, is famous for the disappearances of ships and planes that have given rise to multiple conspiracy theories. Some believe in the existence of magnetic anomalies that disorient ships and planes, portals to other dimensions or time warps that swallow ships, or even the presence of underwater alien bases; others link the area to the remains of Atlantis and its lost technology, while some versions speak of secret military experiments or attacks by giant sea creatures.  Although scientists attribute most incidents to storms, dangerous currents, or human error, the mystery and aura of the inexplicable have kept the legend of the Bermuda Triangle alive.

 Jacobo Grinberg Zylberbaum was a Mexican psychologist and neurophysiologist, born in 1946, known for his studies on consciousness, shamanism, and the relationship between science and spirituality. Jacobo Grinberg disappeared in 1994, and to this day his location and what happened to him remain unknown. This fact has given rise to many theories, but one of the most known claims that he was not the victim of a crime or a kidnapping, instead he managed to transcend to another plane of existence thanks to his research on consciousness and reality. His studies of Synergistic Theory and his interest in shamanic practices would have reached a point where he was able to verify, firsthand, that the human mind can modify the perception of space-time and access different dimensions.  It is said that he managed to leave this dimension, but nothing has been proven.

This conspiracy theory claims that humans didn't originate on Earth; instead, it claims that we descended from an ancient Martian civilization.  According to this idea, when the Red Planet lost much of its atmosphere and water and became hostile to life, our ancestors built big spaceships to fly away and arrive to Earth, where they would have given rise to humanity. One of the reasons people believe this theory is because Mars shows clear evidence of having rivers, lakes, and oceans in the past. They also point out that the composition of the Mars´ floor contains basic elements for life, such as carbon and phosphorus. There are even mysterious formations on the surface that some people interpret as the remains of ancient constructions. With these arguments that are scientific backing, the theory posits that we aren´t actually natives on this planet, we are aliens who found a new home on Earth.
